At Dakshinamurthy Math (AUM FOUNDATION Trust), we strive to be fair and transparent in all our financial interactions. As we operate across various domains—including charitable donations, book publications, educational programs, and pilgrim accommodation—our refund policy varies by category.
Please read the specific terms below carefully.
1. Charitable Donations
General Rule: Donations made to AUM FOUNDATION Trust are voluntary and are generally non-refundable. Once an 80G Tax Exemption receipt is issued, the donation is considered final and filed with the Income Tax Department.
Exceptions (Technical Errors): If a donation was made due to a technical error (e.g., double debit or incorrect amount entered due to a system glitch), please contact us within 7 days. We will verify the transaction and process a refund if the claim is valid.
2. AUM PRAKASHAN MANDIR (Publications & Books)
For purchases of books, scriptures, or other physical products:
Cancellations: Orders may be cancelled before they are shipped. Once the order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled.
Returns & Refunds:
We generally do not accept returns on books unless the item received is damaged, defective, or incorrect.
If you receive a damaged book, please email us a photo of the damage within 3 days of delivery. We will send a replacement copy or issue a full refund.
Refunds for book purchases will be processed to the original payment method within 7-10 business days.
3. Magazine Subscriptions (AUMKAR)
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time.
Refund Calculation:
Before Dispatch: If cancelled before the first issue is sent, a 100% refund is granted.
Active Subscription: If the subscription is active, we will refund the amount for the unserved period (remaining months), deducting a small administrative fee.
4. Guest House (Yatri Nivas) Bookings
For pilgrims booking accommodation at our Guest House in Puri:
Advance Booking: Accommodation contributions are often collected in advance to secure the room.
Cancellation Policy:
More than 48 hours before check-in: Full refund (minus nominal bank processing charges).
Less than 48 hours before check-in: No refund will be provided, as the room was held for you and could not be offered to other pilgrims.
Early Checkout: No refunds are provided for early departures.
5. Educational Programs (Balbodha / Gita Gyan)
Registration Fees: Fees paid for educational programs are refundable only if the request is made before the commencement of the course.
After Course Start: Once classes have begun, fees are non-refundable. However, in cases of medical emergencies, the Trust may, at its discretion, allow the student to join the next batch without extra cost.
